About PRISMA
The PRISMA research group, located within the Department of Computer Science (DCC) at the University of Chile, focuses its research in the areas of multimedia databases, pattern recognition, and similarity search.
Our main purpose is to develop efficient and effective methods for Multimedia Information Retrieval. In particular, we are interested in the areas of:
- Metric and multidimensional indexing.
- Similarity search in non-metric spaces.
- 3D object retrieval.
- Image similarity search.
- Content-based video retrieval.
Regular courses that we teach are:
- Multimedia databases.
- Seminar: Index structures for multimedia databases.
- Content-Based Image and Video Retrieval.
